The Kingdom of NorAuthwik (2012–2015)
The Kingdom of NorAuthwik was established in 2012 by four founding individuals as a political and cultural thought experiment. Under the initial sovereign, William von Hanover, NorAuthwik emerged as a MicroNation emphasizing freedom of political expression, creative self-expression, principled identity, and experimental governance.
By 2015, NorAuthwik reached a natural point of reassessment. Following the abdication of King William and his retirement from micronational activity, a public referendum was convened to evaluate the future structure of governance. This process engaged both local participants and the wider online community and reflected growing awareness of NorAuthwik’s scale, mission, and evolving purpose.
After deliberation in the first session of Parliament, consensus was reached to transition from a kingdom to a principality—recognizing both the nation’s size and its principle-based character.
This decision was formally enacted by the Chancellor, later Prime Minister, Justin Nicholas von Hanover-Lausenburg, establishing the framework for NorAuthwik’s next phase of development.
The Diarchy of NorAuthwik (2015–2018)
The adoption of a principality model introduced a distinctive period in NorAuthwik’s history: the establishment of a diarchal principality, governed by two sovereigns entrusted by Parliament.
This period saw the joint reign of Nathaniel von Hanover-Lausenburg and Kacey Keara von Hanover-Lausenburg (formerly Princess Katherine). The diarchy emphasized collaboration, shared responsibility, and balance, guiding NorAuthwik through a period of institutional growth and refinement.
Return to a Singular Throne (2018)
In 2018, NorAuthwik entered a transitional period following the temporary retirement of Prince Nathaniel to pursue educational commitments. During this time, Princess Kacey assumed the role of sole acting monarch, ensuring continuity of leadership and stability of governance.
Upon Prince Nathaniel’s return in January 2018, Princess Kacey formally supported a return to singular leadership. A parliamentary motion later that spring affirmed this transition, restoring a single sovereign while reaffirming that NorAuthwik’s authority is grounded in its principles rather than personal rule.
This change marked the conclusion of the diarchal period and reinforced the Principality’s identity as a principle-led cultural nation.
Institutional Development and Diplomacy
Under the continued leadership of Prince Nathaniel, NorAuthwik further developed its internal governance structures, parliamentary processes, and cultural institutions. Engagement with other MicroNations occurred through dialogue, symbolic diplomacy, and cultural exchange, reflecting NorAuthwik’s emphasis on cooperation and mutual respect rather than territorial or legal claims.
The Crown of NorAuthwik, LLC (2024-Present)
In 2024, the Government of NorAuthwik formally established The Crown of NorAuthwik LLC to serve as the legal, financial, and administrative instrument of the Principality within the State of North Carolina.
This structure enables NorAuthwik to operate responsibly within United States law while supporting its cultural mission, internal administration, and public initiatives. The LLC framework reflects NorAuthwik’s model of administrative autonomy without claims of external sovereignty.
In conjunction with this development, the Crown Community Care Initiative was launched as a public expression of NorAuthwik’s commitment to social responsibility, cultural outreach, and responsiveness to community needs.
Continuity and Purpose
NorAuthwik continues to evolve as a principality defined not by territory or force, but by principles, participation, and purpose. Its history reflects adaptation, reflection, and a sustained effort to align structure with values.
This record is preserved as part of the NorWakian parliamentary archive to document the Principality’s development and institutional continuity.
Honoring Legacy
In remembrance of the late HRH, Rt. Hon. Prince Justin Ray von Hanover-Lausenburg, a Prince of the Realm, a Duke of the Royal Court of NorAuthwik, beloved member of the royal family, and member of the Mimasian Order of Saturn.
Our inaugural Prime Minister, whose dedicated service from 2014 to 2024 left an indelible mark on our nation, we pay homage to his legacy and commitment to NorAuthwik's prosperity.
He will be missed greatly.
